PM approves private university in B'baria

After a long wait, a private university is going to be set up in Brahmanbaria as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave approval of the university.

Local lawmaker and Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry RAM Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury and his wife ex-DG of the Department of Higher and Secondary Education (DHSE) had been working for long for the approval of the university.

Confirming this, Muktadir Chowdhury MP's personal assistant Abu Musa Ansari said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina signed the documents relating to the approval of 'University of Brahmanbaria'.

Sources said the activities of the university will start in a rented building in Brahmanbaria town next within few months. Afterwards, the permanent campus of the university will be set up in a place near the town.
