Gulshan Lake has worn a look under a beautification project- numerous ornamental plants alongside the banks. After completion of a cleanliness drive, Gulshan Society, a platform for the upscale town residents, has started the beautification with the view to enhance the beauty of the lake.
The beautification program was formally inaugurated at the Gulshan-Nikatan bridge area nearby Fazle Rabbi Park yesterday morning at 10:00am. Gulshan Society President Shakhawat Abu Khair Mohammad, Secretary General Shukla Sarwat Siraj, Director of the Lake Development Project in RAJUK Aminur Rahman Suman, Chief of the Lake Management Committee in the Gulshan Society Eva Rahman, its Vice President MA Hashem and Mahin Khan, among others, were present at the event.
After the inauguration, the society members planted saplings on the both sides of the waterbody.Shukla Sarwat Siraj, Secretary General of the Gulshan Society said, "Fresco will be drawn on the walls adjoining to the lake along with slogans to aware people." "Locals should stop throwing the garbage into the lake to keep its flow smooth and clear. To make the city livable, the lake must be saved. People also should thwart the grabbers," she opined.
It is to be mentioned that, RAJUK in a deal signed on July last year gave the charge of cleaning, maintaining and enhancing the beauty of the lake to the Society.
