Kazi Ertaza was awarded in the 5th World Peace Summit, organized by United Nations University for Global Peace.
Iran-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry President and Bangladesh Human Rights Development Commission Chairperson Dr Kazi Ertaza Hassan has won the 'Doctor of Humanity' award.
Ertaza, a member of the Awami League's central sub-committee on industry & commerce and religious affairs, editor of Bhorer Pata and a director of FBCCI, has been also given 'World Peace Ambassador' title, said a press release.
Ertaza was among 14 personalities from different countries awarded in the 5th World Peace Summit, organized by United Nations University for Global Peace or University of Universal Global Peace in Malaysia, on Sunday for their contribution to different fields.
On receiving the award, he said: "I'm very happy with the award as it has been given by a United Nations-affiliated institution like University of Universal Global Peace'.A human right activist, Dr. Ertaza has been working for the last 16 years to protect rights in Bangladesh. He is in the frontline in Tablighi Jamaat Bangladesh.
