PM's financial aid to singers Abdul Jabbar, Timir Nandi

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday gave financial assistance for treatment of two celebrated artistes of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra and valiant Freedom Fighters Abdul Jabbar and Timir Nandi.The Premier handed over family savings certificates of Taka 20 lakh to Abdul Jabbar and a cheque for Taka 10 lakh to Timir Nandi at a simple function at Ganabhaban here this evening, PM's Deputy Press Secretary Ashraful Alam Khokan said.Besides, he said, Sheikh Hasina also provided financial assistance for Jebunnesa, wife of late Shahabuddin Farazi, former president of Pekua Upazila Awami League in Cox's Bazar, Salma Begum, wife of late Matin Saiyal, an official of Fire Service and Civil Defence and the family members of Jubo Mohila League leader late Nurunnahar Lovely.Earlier in the morning, on behalf of the Prime Minister, her Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim handed over a cheque for Taka 5 lakh to ailing journalist Mukul Talukdar in the morning, Khokan said.
