Confidence Power Rangpur starts operation

A 99 percent subsidiary of Confidence Power Holdings Ltd, The Confidence Power Rangpur Ltd has started commercial operation from August 12.  At an official disclosure on Tuesday, the company said, the Confidence Power Holdings is an associate company of Confidence Cement Ltd.  The Confidence Cement, a listed company, has 41 per cent stake in Confidence Power Holdings.

The board of directors of Confidence Cement has agreed with the decision taken by the board of directors of Confidence Power Holdings that its subsidiary has started commercial operation from August 12.

The Confidence Power Rangpur has started commercial operation of its HFO based net 113MW Power Plant consisting of Unit of Bergen Engines supplied along with related auxiliaries by Norway with effect from August 12, 2019 to sell the whole production of electricity to the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), said the disclosure. In January, 2018, the board of directors of Confidence Cement agreed to invest in the new power plant projects located at Bogra, Rangpur and Chattogram under Confidence Power Holdings.

The Confidence Power Bogra Unit-2, a 99 per cent subsidiary of Confidence Power Holdings, also started commercial operation from March 30, 2019.
