Nekabborer Mohaproyan: A tale of an unknown fighter

Nekabborer Mohaprayan has lately won the National Film Award 2014. The film is based on a famous Bangla poem "Nekabborer Mohaprayan" written by Nirmalendu Goon.
What the film has showed, who Nekabbor is, what happens with him or how he makes his ascension-these queries will take the viewers to a world of uncertainties. The film irradiates all these questions from different angles. There are two main ingredients of our life namely love and fight. Nekabbor's life is also driven out by love and fight.
The film tells the story of a simple village farmer, Nekabbor who later transforms into a fighter. Nekabbor with his all golden dreams and expectations has been leading an ordinary life. Every day the sun rises with a new hope for him. Every day he visualizes for a better life, but his expectations never come true. As a young and enthusiastic man, Nekabbor is always ready to struggle against hunger and all other difficulties. He never fears and faces all the difficulties and pains with much courage. His hope revolves around Fatema. She is his only hope and vigor. Nekabbor has inexhaustible love for her. Fatema has the same feeling for Nakabbor. Their love fills each other's life to the brim. With the passage of time life goes forward through tears and smile. Then, one day a tremendous storm appears in Nekabbor's life. All the dreams and expectations are shattered in a moment.  His golden days are faded away forever. And what happens next?  What will Nekabbor do now? Does he ever get his golden days back?  The viewers have to watch the full movie to get all of these answers.  
The plot of the main story is blended with fiction and documentary. The film emphasizes the significance of liberation war of 1971. The movie brings into focus how the liberation war and its subsequent result make a deep impact on the social life of the villagers. The major part of the movie has filmed in different rural areas of country. The viewers will certainly experience some idyllic landscapes of rural Bangladesh. The natural beauty of Bangladesh is also a major subject-matter of the main plot.    
The film is directed and produced by Kobi Masud Pathikand. It got financial aid from government. It was released countrywide in 2014. Jewel Jahur played the role of Nekabbor and Shimla played the role of Fatema. Besides, Prabir Mitra and Mamunur Rashid played the two more major characters of this movie. Pabir Mitra played the role of Fatema's father and Mamunur Rashid played the role of 'Munshi'
The film is widely appreciated by the critics and movie buffs. Apart from Best Film Award, it has won awards in five more categories- "Best Female Playback Singer", "Best Songwriter", "Best Music Composer", "Best Lyricist", and "Best Makeup Man".     The reviewer studies in English Department, World University Bangladesh.
