Day-care centre launched at DU

Day-care centre launched at DU The Social Science Faculty of Dhaka University (DU) on Saturday introduced a new child day-care centre to look after the children of faculty members. -AA

The Social Science faculty of Dhaka University (DU) introduced a new child day-care centre to look after the child of the faculty members in order to help them to carry out their dual role.

DU Pro-VC (Academic) Dr. Nasreen Ahmed inaugurated the centre on Sunday morning. This center, made under the supervision of the dean of Social Science Faculty Dr. Sadeka Halim, was situated at the 6th floor of DU Social Science Faculty building.

The day care centre aims at providing comfortable, safe and secure environment to the children of the Faculties. The timing of the centre is from 9:30am to 5:00pm with services available for five days a week (Sunday to Thursday). Three experienced employee was assigned to take care the children.

Dean of Social Science faculty Dr. Sadeka Halim said, "We have 300 teachers in this faculty. For their children a day-care centre was badly needed. We introduced it from that sense. Our honourable Prime Minister is also so much supportive on these".
