At least 947 students participated in the second season of Coding Contest organized by Samsung Research and Development Institute Bangladesh (SRBD) from June 21- August 31, 2019 on its premises in Dhaka. -AA
Samsung Research and Development Institute Bangladesh (SRBD) has successfully completed the second season of Coding Contest to develop the knowledge and skill of the University students and to bridge the gap between academia and industry. The contest took place between the period of June 21 - August 31, 2019 in SRBD premises in Dhaka.
947 students participated in the event hailing from the leading universities in the country, competing for the prize of sum BDT 135,000. The Coding Contest was held in 3 stages, the first of which was held between all the participants from 52 universities via an online elimination round.
The participants were required to solve algorithmic problems using C/ C++/ Java within a stipulated timeframe. Then from the second qualifying round (with 110 participants), 50 contestants moved onto the final round. Henceforward, 10 most brilliant coding minds of the year emerged from this contest.
On this occasion, Wonmo Ku, Managing Director, Samsung Research & Development Institute Bangladesh encouraged the participants to keep up the good work and continue partaking in this type of programming contest which shapes the competencies of Bangladeshi youth. In his closing remark, he conveyed whole-hearted appreciation for the talent pool that participated this year and expressed his desire to see them become a valuable asset for Bangladesh in the coming days.
