"She's been my rock for as long as I can remember. She was in 10th and I was in 5th grade, when our mom had to leave us and go abroad to work.

So even though she didn't have to, she took up my responsibility. She would wake up at 5 AM, make breakfast for me, drop me to school -- she even helped with all of my homework and made sure that I had everything I needed. She became a responsible adult overnight, and taking care of me became her first priority.

After 2 years my mother came back, and my sister left to pursue her studies in another city. I missed her more than anything in the world -- and it was then that there were a lot of issues between my parents. I would call her and cry and she'd patiently listen to me and make me feel better by saying 'You are my family and I am yours.'

Even though she was so far away, she never made me feel alone. Our parents got separated, but again she stepped in, took my responsibility and even helped pay for my education. Literally everyone in my life, including my fiance knows that my sister means the world to me!

Because today, wherever I am, whatever I am, is only because of her -- she's been my sister, my friend, my parent...my everything. She's the first shoulder I look to lean on and the only hand I need to lift me up when I fall. She's more than my family, she's my home."
