For the first time, Bangladeshi film was commercially released outside of the country. Nusrat Imroz Tisha and Arifin's 'Ostitto' was released on May 27 in Toronto, Canada. Soon after the release, the movie has brought a message of success. 'Ostitto' is proudly running its second week with a positive reaction from the viewers.
On the same day, 'X-Men: Apocalypse' was released at Canada, so, 'Ostitto' had to compete with the blockbuster hit series. However, beyond all odds, the movie seems to win the foreign market as it is having a successful second week at Toronto.
The director of the film, Ananna Mamun said, "We had to compete with the Hollywood film over there, but we got huge response from the Bangladeshi and foreign viewers from there. Truly said, it was beyond our expectations." According to the director, the average amount of 'Ostitto' ticket sales was 60-70 percent. The director claimed that this is the first time that a Bangladeshi film was released commercially overseas.
After the Canada, the movie will be screened at Paris on June 5; it already had a screening on June 3. Besides, 'Ostitto' will also be screened at Malaysia, Singapore, Oman, UK and Australia for the Bangladeshi immigrants, informed the director. Arifin Shuvo and Tisha-starrer "Ostitto" hit the silver screens on May 6 across the Bangladesh. The film, directed by Anonno Mamun, puts Tisha alongside Shuvo for the first time.
The film created hype among the filmgoers in Dhaka through its stunning trailer. The film encircles the love story of two youths, and but there other subplots which evokes emotion. There is social message in the film about autism. After the release, the movie received a huge response from the young generation.
