Prof Shafiullah passes away

Former Professor of Chemistry Department at Jahangirnagar University (JU) Syed Shafiullah passed away on Friday night. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. He was laid to rest at the Banani graveyard on Saturday afternoon followed by two-namaz-e-janaza.
JU VC Prof Farzana Islam expressed profound shock at the death of eminent chemist Shafiullah. In a condolence message, the VC said that his death is an irreparable loss to the country. Shafiullah was born in 1945 in Bagerhat. He completed his master's from DU and achieved the PhD degree from the Cambridge University.
