A documentary film on legendary bard and mystic philosopher Hason Raja's life will be released in August, informed Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. Titled 'Matir Pinjira', the documentary is produced by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and directed by Bibesh Roy. The film is in post-production stage. The 47-minute film is divided into five sections, each depicting a certain phase of Hason Raja's life.
The first section portrays an introduction about Hason Raja's families while the second section depicts his birth and his elite life style. Through the third part, the film tells the music life of Hason Raja and how he was as a philosopher. The forth part represents an analysis of his songs and also how these songs are practiced in different countries.
The last part focuses on the death and legacy of the bard. The content of the film was provided by Hason Raja's descendant Samarin Dewan, informed Bibesh Roy. Liaquat Ali Lucky, director general of the academy, said the academy took up the documentary project last year to promote Hason Raja among the young people of the country.
Hason Raja (1854 - 1922) was born into an elite family, and became the ruler of the greater haor areas in Sylhet, Sunamganj region at 15. However, he wanted more knowledge and in search of truth was his passion, so he delved deep into the realm of mysticism and he started composing mystic poems and songs like 'Loke Bole', 'Hason Rajay Koy' and other famous songs.
