On the occasion of Holy month of Ramadan, Daudkandi Upazila Parishad Chairman Major (retd) Mohammad Ali arranged an Iftar mahfil for the students of Pennai Eidgaon Madrasa Orphanage under Gauripur Union of Daudkandi upazila. Upazila Chairman Mohammad Ali by his own funds took Iftar items and seasonal fruits for the students studying at Pennai Eidgah Orphanage and had Iftar with the student teachers on Thursday.
It is mentionable that the government has closed all the religious educational institutions along with all the educational institutions during lockdown due to the global corona pandemic. Only all the orphanages have been kept open for special reasons.
Muhtamim of the madrasa, assistant teachers and 60 orphan students studying in the orphanage attended the iftar party. Major (retd) Mohammad Ali said, "The solvent people do iftar with family members happily. But those are orphan or staying in different madrasas for study can't share their happiness of fasting with their family. I feel lucky to be able to share the joy of breaking our fast with them."
"I fully support and respect the government's decision to keep all orphanages open during the corona situation", he said. I urge the wealthy and conscious people of the society to stand by all the orphans and helpless people around us to increase the greatness of the holy month of Ramadan. I would like to request leaders and workers of all my units to inform me immediately wherever the orphans have any problem, he added.
