A group of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University students on Monday demanded reopening the university campus and halls as soon as possible. They made the demand from a human chain held at the main gate of the university at 11am. From the human chain the students urged the government to save their student life and reopen the educational institutions. Abdullah al Razu, a student of Bangla department said, "The closure of the university makes us depressed. Even our parents are to become depressed day by day.
We want to get rid of this situation. So we urged our prime minister to take necessary steps to reopen education institutions." Shikder Mahbub, a student of Management said, "University students are more aware about coronavirus than general people, and they will be able to follow hygiene rules more than anyone else.
But when all the sectors of Bangladesh have already reopened, the educational institutions are still remain closed. The students who are tomorrow's workforce of the economy are out of classrooms for the last 14 months. We want an end of this situation." To mention that all educational institutions across the country were shut down on March 17 last year due to Covid-19.
