A Dhaka court has placed Islamic orator Amir Hamza on a five-day remand in a case lodged over plotting to carry out an attack on Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atikul Islam gave the order as police produced the accused before the court and pleaded to place him on 10-day remand in the case on Tuesday.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit detained Hamza from his village home in Dabirabhita under Patikabari union under Kustia Sadar upazila on May 24. Police said Hamza was preaching his extreme ideologies for long, by taking part in different Islamic Mahfil and through YouTube.
