Dr Mashiur takes charge as new NU VC

Dr Mashiur takes charge as new NU VC National University newly-appointed Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Mashiur Rahman takes the charge of the office on Monday. -AA

Professor Dr Md Mashiur Rahman, newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the National University, has officially taken charge of the office. He took over the new responsibilities by joining the Gazipur main campus on Monday (May 31). After taking the charge of the office, NU VC Prof Mashiur Rahman said, "We have to follow the philosophy of Bangabandhu. At present we are going through a difficult challenge.

Even in these difficult times, Bangladesh is at a very strong position in terms of economy. In such a situation we have to think about the students. They want to sit for exanimation. They want to return to their classrooms. They want to continue their study again. We have to continue our education through any medium, it's can be online or offline." The Vice-Chancellor further said, "We will work to ensure the quality of education by overcoming all obstacles.

Considering the decision taken by the President and the Prime Minister as an important responsibility, it is necessary to focus on the modernization of education and the progressive thinking of nation building. Our main places are Bangabandhu, Liberation War and Bangladesh. We have to stand on this foundation and move forward." The new VC sought the overall cooperation of all the teachers, officials and employees to maintain a conducive learning environment in the university.

The Vice-Chancellor said, "The current government under the leadership of Prime Minister is doing all so that the education system do not fall into crisis due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Among others, the Dean, Heads of Departments of various departments and other teachers and officials of the university were present on the occasion.
