Debleena Sen rejoices memories of her film at IFFR

Getting an invitation from the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) is quite an achievement for actors and directors alike. Actress Debleena Sen's latest film, Glossary of Non Human Love, was on the prestigious platform receiving accolades recently. The 96-minute Bengali feature by the original name Namanush Premer Kothamala made her proud. "This film has extremely intense dialogues that make every scene quite expressive. Its journey from realism to intra-realism make it an intriguing and realistic watch," she said.

Ten years into acting must have made quite a few things easy for her in the profession. But was this role challenging or up her alley? "I didn't have to prepare much as such for the role. Working with the director Ashish (Avikunthak) is always a pleasure. I have also worked with him before and he has an amazing sense of how to unfurl the story. That makes things easier for actors," Debleena said.

Earlier, Bengali films like Asha Jaoar Majhe also made it to IFFR, among other film festivals. How proud are you about your film's journey? "This of course is an extremely happy occasion. The only dampner being we were not able to be physically present there due to the pandemic. But there were constant Q&A sessions after each screening and we were on video calls. I enjoyed the moments," Debleena said.
