HP Training Camp 2021 starts 19 August The BCB's HP camp will be held in a bio-secure environment and includes three one day and two four-day matches against Bangladesh A team. -BCB

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) High Performance squad's Training Camp 2021 will start at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram from 19 August, a BCB's press release confirmed the matter on Saturday.

The camp will be held in a bio-secure environment and includes three one day and two four-day matches against Bangladesh A team.  'The players start reporting from Saturday. After the Covid protocols, they are supposed to travel to Chattogram on August 16. The training would start on August 17,' BCB's game development manager AEM Kaiser told media.  '

The tentative ending date of the camp is October 9. The National League will begin in October. So, the training will end one week before the NCL begins,' he added. The Skill, fitness and center wicket Practice will run till September one before they will play three one day match against Bangladesh A on September 2, 4 and 6 respectively.

The two four-day match against Bangladesh A will be held on September 9-12 and September 15-18 respectively before they will go another practice session from September 24 to October 8.  Some new players have been added in the squad in absence of players like Afif Hossain, Mohammad Naim, who are now with the national duty. 'We will add three or four players who have performed well in the President's Cup and the Bangabandhu Twenty20 Cup. Our selectors will decide who those players will be. Officially, it is likely to be declared tomorrow [today],' he said.

HP team's head coach Toby Radford is expected to be present during skill training camp while Sri Lankan pace bowling coach Champaka Ramanayake, batting coach Jafrul Ehsan and fielding coach Gulam Mortuza will also join from the start of the training.  After the camp, the HP team will also play two longer version matches and a few one-day matches against Bangladesh A team, said Kaiser.
