Frequent power cuts make life miserable for Sarail residents

Frequent power cuts have made life unbearable in hot weather condition  for residents in Sarail upazila of Brahmanbaria.  

People in the upazila immensely suffer as loadshedding occurs in a frequent manner day and night.  

Fatema Begum, a housewife in Sarail sadar, said, “Our sufferings due to frequent loadshedding know no bounds. We face water crisis due to ‘hide and seek’ of electricity. There is none to see our miserable condition.”  

We are getting electricity only for 8 to 10 hours in 24 hours, she added.  

Aged peopole are the worst sufferers of the regular power outages as they cannot sleep at night for hot temperature. Local people blame the indifference of authorities in local power office for such unbearable situation.  

Suman Hossain, deputy assistant engineer of sales and distribution division of Sarail BPDB, told The Asian Age, “Power disruption has occurred due to problem in the main line. Work is now going on in Ashuganj. The situation will be normal soon.”
