'I never dreamed of being a playwriter'

Popular actor Farhan Ahmed Jovan wrote the story and screenplay of the play for the first time in his 8 year acting career. The actor had storytelling in 7 plays including 'Love Express', 'My Emotional Wife' and 'Fake Love'. But this is the first time he has written a script. The name of the drama is 'Amar Birthday'. Not only the story, the screenplay, he has also acted here himself, will be seen with another popular actress Tasnia Farin. The Drama is directed by Shahid Un Nabi.

Q. Now many actors have turned their attention to storytelling and screenwriting. Finally you also wrote your name in that list. How do you see the artist's desire to write?

Jovan: Honestly, I look at it very positively. Because, an artist is constantly facing or working on a variety of stories or getting themes of many stories along the way. Now if anyone can implement it, it is quite good. There have been a few things in my storytelling before, most likely 7; But this is the first time in the script & screenplay.

Q. Writing stories or screenplays, when did this idea come to mind?

Jovan: I've been writing stories for a long time, but it's just because I like it. I never dreamed of being a playwriter. I was already addicted to writing. I try to write only when there is a story in my mind. I want to write regularly. Because there is a lot of comfort in working on one's own story, the character can be captured easily.

We have a lot of stories submitted to us almost every day. I get about 5/10 stories every day. It is not possible to read all of them anymore. I store them.I have 2/3 very close friends who help me a lot in these matters. When a lot of stories are accumulated, I sit down to chat with my friends and read some stories, give some to my friends, they read them and let me know. Then I say 'yes' to the story that sounds good to me and tell the director to send the screenplay. Then I work. I have been doing this for the last 2/3 years.

This story comes to my mind while doing this. And this plan comes to mind on my birthday, when I was chatting with my friends. Then I share this story with my friends, they are very happy to hear my plan. Said, 'Yeah, that would be great.' Then I say the dialogue, the scenes, my friends start writing that way. After sharing the script with director Shahid Un Nabi, he liked it a lot and said, 'Very nice idea. I will work on this story, don't give it to anyone else.' Then we started shooting.

Q. In your own story, what was the experience like working on the script?

Jovan: I have been working in this industry for about 8 years. Although not much, I have gained some experience. Many stories have been worked on. From that place, I understood a little bit what kind of stories the audience will like, which will not. From that point on it seemed like I wanted to complete this story, I believe viewers would like it if it could be done nicely.The director, the producer liked the story and my plan quite a bit. Then I've been just inside this story for the last few days. I wanted the first script of my life to be very neat and beautiful.

I have given as much effort as necessary for this. I have given a lot of time behind this. Usually I shoot for two days but for this I am shooting for three days. Also the director, the producer, the co-artist, the cameraman sat down with everyone, sat down and planned how to do the job well! Everyone has been very supportive, I am grateful to everyone. In short, the work should be good.

Q. You have given so much effort to your own script. If others do not have the effort from you?

Jovan: No. That's not the point. It is true that everyone has a different kind of love for their own troubles. Even when I work on other people's scripts, I work with effort. But in that case, many times the scripts come to us a day or two ago; But then it is not possible to sit or do homework with it. But when I take a content with me over time, it stays in my head all the time. Then there will be many benefits to work with it. When I have the whole story in my head I miss something but I can catch it.

Q. From now on, will you write a script regularly or is it just a hobby ...

Jovan: If this work goes successful then I will definitely write more in the future. There are some more stories in my head, I want to do them in the future. If I get a good response, I will do it regularly.

Q. Many are already working in OTT platform. Why can't you be found through this after 'Morichika'?Jovan: Honestly, I love the drama very much, that is why OTT doesn't draw me too much. 'Morichika' did, got a good response; I am grateful for that. And this medium is still new, there is a lot more time ahead. Let's see what happens up front. But I like my drama very much. I really enjoy this place.
