Railway development works inaugurated in Netrokona

Railway Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujon has inaugurated the construction works of platform elevation, station building renovation, access control and platform shed to enhance passenger facilities at the Netrokona Boro Station on Friday morning.Chaired by Jahangir Hossain, General Manager (East) of Bangladesh Railway, Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru, ruling party lawmaker from Netrokona-2 constituency, addressed at the inaugural program as special guest. 

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kazi Md Abdur Rahman, Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Akbar Ali Munshi, Railway Minister's wife Shammi Akter, Zila Awami League President Matiur Rahman Khan, Zila Parishad Chairman Prashanto Kumar Roy, Municipality Mayor Mohammad Nazrul Islam Khan, among others, were present on the occasion.

Addressing the program as the chief guest, the railway minister said, "The present government has taken the task to modernize the railway station while Ziaur Rahman and Ershad government has damaged railways at different times." In its continuation, Netrokona railway station is being developed. A foot over bridge will be constructed for the convenience of the passengers and to facilitate the movement," the minister added.
