Al Kachir wins TRUB award

Television Reporters Unity of Bangladesh (TRUB) has been given its 27th award in a magnificent ceremony. TRUB has given this honor to fifty people for their contribution to Cinema, Television, Song, Theatre and Journalism. This year Al Kachir, a reporter of popular news channel Somoy Television, was honored by the accolade for his work in Journalism. Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud presented this award to Al Kachir in Dhaka Club on Friday. As a special guest Sates minister of Cultural Affairs K M Khalid, Adv. Nur Uddin Chowdhury MP and Fhakrul Imam were present on the occasion.

After receiving the award Al Kachir said, "any recognition increases work speed. I'm so encouraged and excited. For this honor, I express my gratitude to TRUB officials. And I dedicated it to my teachers." TRUB president Salam Mahmud presided over the ceremony while former State Minister of cultural affairs and chairman of organizing committee Syed Didar Bakt, theater-pioneer Ataur Rahman, Bangladesh Federal Journalist Union's president Omar Faruk, Founder president of TRUB and Poet Hasnain Sajjad also gave a speech.

Al Kachir holds a Master's degree in Media Studies from the University of Calcutta. After returning country in 2017, he started work in entertainment journalism. He has a lot of achievements in this field. He also worked in The Daily Bangladesher Khabor and Nagorik TV.
