Dr Neem Chandra Bhowmik popularly known as Dr Bhowmik, a diplomat and president of Bangladesh Hindu Buddha Christian Unity Council (BHBCUC), has been featured in the international media. 'Wallington Magazine', a New Zealand-based newspaper, has run a story on life and works of the heroic freedom fighter.
In the special issue of the news magazine on human stars of South Asia who have enlightened the nations with their commitment, devotion and activities in different sectors of the society, the story titled 'A Glorious Forerunner of Peace and Equality', narrated the splendid activities of Dr NC Bhowmik, who is also the convener of Bangladesh Conscious Citizens Committee (BCCC).
Terming Dr Bhowmik a non-communal liberal humanist, the story says, "From student life, he has been striving for the rights of common people as well as the country. He is a symbol of humanity, harmony and friendship among people from all religions." Dr NC Bhowmik, a former professor of Dhaka University, has been said in the news story as a conscious political personality who jumped into the 1971 Liberation War at the call of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He was a devoted follower of Bangabandhu and still works to uphold the ideology of the greatest Bangalee forever.
The renowned personalities from the Indian sub continent who have been featured in the Walling Magazine include Bangladesh Parliament Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasian's daughter Saima Wazed Putul and former renowned bureaucrat Marghub Morshed.
While expressing feelings for being a subject of a global publication, Dr NC Bhowmik said, "I'm happy to be featured in an international newspaper with some golden personalities of South Asia.
