The Digital Bangladesh Survey (BDS) will be the last land survey in Bangladesh, said Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury.
He came up with the remarks while the remarks while inaugurating the land services through postal service, digital payment and call center at Bhumi Bhaban auditorium in the capital's Tejgaon area on Wednesday. Saifuzzaman Chowdhury said, "Once the BDS is completed across the country, no Cadastral Survey will be needed except emerge of new land and chars."
Land owners will be able to apply to collect khatian and map by calling 16122, he said, adding that khatian and mutation fees and land development taxes facilities will be ensured through online.
Moreover, the land ministry has acquired prestigious UN Public Services Award led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he further said.
Mokbul Hossain MP, chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on land ministry, Umme Fatema Nazma Begum MP and Post and Telecommunications Secretary Khalilur Rahman were present, among others, at the program chaired by Land Secretary Mostafizur Rahman.
Land Management Domain Specialist of Land Management Automation Project and former Chief Secretary of Prime Minister Md Abul Kalam Azad was present as guest of honor.
