Thakurgaon General Hospital ranks 1st in Rangpur division

250-bed Thakurgaon General Hospital has been ranked as first among the 8 hospitals of Rangpur Division for its services including postpartum care, caesarean operation, minor surgery, breast feeding and other services. According to hospital sources, the Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) score for December 2021 has been reviewed. This time, the hospital secured first place in HSS scoring due to the quality improvement of various services.

Sharmin Akhter, a patient who came for taking treatment, said "The services of the hospital have improved a lot compared to the past."Kamal Hossain, a resident of Nargun area of Sadar upazila, said the caretaker of the hospital Dr Firoz Zaman Jewel has decorated the hospital very nicely. The way he and other doctors are providing services is commendable even though they do not have the required manpower.

Talking to the caretaker of the hospital Dr Firoz Zaman Jewel, he said, "I am working with a medical team consisting of all the officers and staff of the hospital to ensure the basic rights of the locals and communities of the district. In its continuity, the hospital has secured the first position in HSS scoring.In addition, 20 corona ICU and 10 general ICU beds have been added to the hospital. At the same time, there is a process of launching a kidney dialysis unit with PCR lab, the official said.
