UNO Kamrul Islam stands beside helpless family

Md Kamrul Islam Khan, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Daudkandi in Cumilla, has set an example by donating money and food items to a helpless family from his own funds.

Rokeya Begum, wife of helpless Gorib Hossain of Golaper Char village under Daudkandi sadar uttar union of the upazila, came to his office on Thursday, (February 10) and expressed her grief to the UNO.

Considering the Rokeya Begum's financial difficulties, UNO Kamrul Islam immediately donated her some money and food items and promised to give her a house under the Ashrayan Project.

Rokeya Begum said that the river water drying up fast and she was struggling to make ends meet by crossing her husband's boat, so she came to UNO with her children for help. She said the UNO had earlier bought a boat for her husband.  

The UNO has also done so many humanitarian activities during the ongoing pandemic such as providing relief goods to the needy people of the area and conducting mobile court in different places of the upazila to curb price hike of daily commodities.

It is mentionable that on March 12, 2021, UNO Kamrul Islam prevented a child marriage. Later, he gave a battery-run rickshaw to girl's father and a sewing machine to the victim girl. 

In this way, the people-friendly UNO, Md Kamrul Islam Khan, is helping the poor and helpless people.
