Actor Maggie Fox, who appeared on the long-running soap opera Coronation Street, has died following a "sudden accident".As Metro reports, her death was announced by her comedy partner, Sue Ryding, who shared the news on Facebook.
Ryding wrote: "It is with great sadness that I have to announce the death of Maggie Fox, my comedy partner of 40 years and co-Artistic Director of LipService. Maggie passed away yesterday with her family around her."As you can imagine, I am completely heartbroken."She continued: "We are still all in a state of shock as this was very sudden following an accident."
Maggie was best known for playing Ruth Audsley on Corrie in 2001, but she had other roles on the soap throughout its history.She played a nurse in 1990 and in 1992 she played Charmain Grey. Most recently, she played Judge Travers in 2010.She also played the role of the registrar in the Channel 4 series Shameless.
