Paddy procurement begins in Pakundia

 
The food department on Monday started the procurement of paddy and rice from farmers directly in Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj. The paddy and rice will be procured through mobile apps this year.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rozlin Shahid Chowdhury inaugurated the procurement drive cutting a ribbon at upazila food warehouse as the chief guest. Upazila Food Controller Md Hasan Ali, Food Warehouse Officer-in-Charge Enayet Karim, Upazila Krishak League President Advocate Abdul Awal and General Secretary Md Selim Mia were present on the occasion.

Speaking the occasion, UNO Rozlin Shahid said, "The paddy and rice will be procured through mobile apps to procurement process easier. Farmers can sell their paddy and rice through mobile apps directly."To mention, the procurement price of paddy has been fixed at Tk27 per kg, boiled rice at Tk40 per kg.
