Sukorma brings smile on the face of a helpless rickshaw puller

Sukorma Foundation, a humanitarian organization formed in the capital Dhaka, has brought smile on the face of a helpless rickshaw puller, Moslem Uddin by providing him a new battery-run rickshaw.

Due to old-age complications, it was very difficult for him to drive a rickshaw by pressing the pedal. Last Friday (May 13), Sheikh Sohana, the founder of Sukorma Foundation, stood by the helpless Moslem Uddin.  She provided a battery-run rickshaw to Moslem Uddin as gift. Now he will no longer have to press the pedal.

Moslem Uddin overjoyed and cried after receiving such help from Sukorma Foundation. At this time, he happily took her around for a while by rickshaw.  Moslem Uddin said, “This rickshaw is the resort of me and my family. I used to live my family by pulling rickshaw. But due to old age complications, I feel pain in my legs while pulling the pedals. Now I have no longer to press the pedals. I am so much grateful to Sheikh Sohana and Sukorma Foundation.”

Sheikh Sohana, the founder of the foundation, said, “Moslem Uddin uncle has no kids. He lived hand to mouth by pulling rickshaw. I first met him while distributing Iftar in the month of Ramadan in Pabna Poschimpara Moinamoti Akkel Sako area. After collecting his home address, I went to his home.”

When I wanted to give him something, he said to me that he needs a new battery-run rickshaw. The very poor man drove the whole family through driving rickshaw. Due to his health complications, he got severe injuries on his waist. From then on, he was no longer forced to ride a pedal-run rickshaw, she added.

The Sukorma Foundation stood by this helpless man. A battery-run rickshaw has been donated by Sukorma. Hopefully, this small effort of Sukorma Foundation will alleviate his helplessness. We think people are for people, life is for life, she further added.

It is mentionable that Sukorma Foundation has already achieved a huge reputation by providing free oxygen cylinders during the Coronavirus pandemic in different districts of the country including the capital Dhaka.
