NSC hosts 22nd AGM
 
The National Sports Council (NSC) held its 22nd annual general meeting (AGM) on Sunday in the Shaheed Sheikh Kamal Auditorium of NSC. It was presided over by State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell MP. Vice Chairman of National Sports Council and Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports Mesbah Uddin attended the meeting as a special guest. The AGM was attended by sports organizers from different sports turfs. Chairman of Editorial Board of The Asian Age and President of Bangladesh Fencing Association Shoeb Chowdhury was present at the AGM too.

Shoeb Chowdhury appreciated the vital role played by State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell MP for boosting sports activities all over Bangladesh. Players of indoor games bring more honour for Bangladesh than outdoor games, Shoeb Chowdhury commented. Shoeb Chowdhury called upon the government to place due importance on the enhancement of indoor games. Shoeb Chowdhury spoke very high of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for being a source of inspiration for the development of sports. However, Shoeb Chowdhury regretted that people who make no contribution to sports get Olympic laurels which is not at all desirable, he added.

Shoeb Chowdhury also applauded Zahid Ahsan Russell for achieving international sports award from Maldives.
