BLRI achieves AMR reference lab recognition
 
Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI) has achieved the recognition of antimicrobial resistance reference laboratory (AMR). This recognition was awarded to BLRI on 8 June 2022 through an order from the Honorable President and a circular issued by Fisheries and Livestock Ministry.

BLRI Director General Dr. SM Jahangir Hossain said that this achievement is a matter of pride for BLRI. He conveyed thanks to the Fisheries and Livestock Minister and the Secretary of the ministry.

Bangladesh government and the American health department have been working on Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) since 2017. Through the financial support of this project, BLRI has been able to enhance its research efforts. The results of these research works have been beneficial in upgrading the quality of fish, poultry and livestock resources of Bangladesh.
