Operation theatre installed at Pakundia health complex

An operation theatre (OT) has been installed again at Pakundia upazila health complex after a long 11 years of closure. Nur Mohammad, ruling party lawmaker from Kishoreganj-2 constituency, inaugurated the operation theatre on Saturday morning. Pakundia Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rozlin Shahid Chowdhury, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Nur-A-Alam Khan, Pakundia Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Saroar Jahan, Upazila former Muktijoddha Commander Bir Muktijoddha Mesbah Uddin, Pakundia Municipality Mayor Mohammad Nazrul Islam Akonda and Residential Medical Officer Dr Rezaul Kabir Kawsar along with other local dignitaries and elites were present at the time. According to upazila health complex, though an operation theatre with advanced equipment was installed in 2011, but it wasn't in operation for last 11 years. There was no surgeon and anesthetist at the health complex. For this, low-income patients have to suffer a lot and are forced to go private clinics.

Due to the constant efforts by Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Nur-A-Alam Khan, the operation theatre has been installed, which will end the sufferings of thousands of people of the upazila. People of the area can get all government treatment facilities at free of cost at the health complex.  It is mentionable that a modern generator has been installed for uninterrupted power facility in the operation theatre. New delta chair, x-ray machine, AC cabin and a separate cabin for heroic freedom fighters have been set up in the complex.
