MOFA gets Bangabandhu Public Administration Award 2022

Bangladesh government has conferred Bangabandhu Public Administration Award 2022 to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) for remarkable and praiseworthy services to the country.Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque handed over the award to Foreign Secretary (Senior Secretary) Masud Bin Momen on Saturday in the capital's Osmani Memorial Auditorium. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was virtually connected with the program from Ganabhaban.Ministry of Foreign Affairs took strong initiatives to globally propagate Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's foreign policy and contributions in the birth of Bangladesh.

MOFA installed Bangabandhu Corners in all Bangladeshi diplomatic missions abroad. Bangabandhu Research Center for Foreign Policy and Diplomacy was established in Foreign Service Academy. MOFA also organized Bangabandhu Lecture Series with globally renowned historians and scholars.Bangabandhu Fellowship was introduced and Bangabandhu Chair was launched in various countries by MOFA including Poland, Germany, United Kingdom, Thailand, Canada, India etcetera.

MOFA also had Bangabandhu's 'Unfinished Memoirs' translated into fourteen foreign languages while Bangabandhu's 'Prison Diary' (Karagarer Rojnamcha) was translated into two foreign languages. Memorial postal stamps in Bangabandhu's name were published with the United Nations and some friendly countries. Roads were named after Bangabandhu in Mauritius, Turkey, India and some other countries. Bangabandhu's bust was installed in several countries including Turkey and Bhutan. Bangabandhu-UNESCO Award for Creative Economy was introduced. MOFA played significant roles in all the above achievements. MOFA also carried out its duty aptly in organizing Bangabandhu's birth centenary and Bangladesh's independence golden jubilee.
