BCG holds VBSS Course for officer

Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) organized a training course titled 'VISIT Board Search and Seizure (VBSS) for Officer' at Maritime Safety and Maritime Security School in Patuakhali from July 31 to August 11. Organized by United Nations Office on Drug and Crimes (UNODC) and Global Maritime Crime Programme (GMCP), a total of 12 trainees, four from Sri Lanka and 8 from Bangladesh took part in the training.  A total of 3 trainers,2 from Bangladesh and one from Sri Lanka, conducted the training program. Lieutenant Commander Khandaker Munif Taki, media officer at BCG headquarter, revealed the information on Thursday.

BCG Deputy Director General Commodore Md Anamul Haque attended the closing ceremony of the practical training course and distributed certificates among the trainees yesterday. Commandant BCG Base Agrajatra Captain Shahjahan Siraj along with other officials was present on the occasion. 

Speaking the program, BCG Deputy Director General Commodore Md Anamul Haque said, "Our coast guard will be more efficient to ensure law and order, security, public safety and prevent robbery across the seaport areas."Later, Md Anamul Haque handed over a Suzuki 4 Stroke training boat to coast guard donated by the UNODC for training purpose.
