Sacked workers want their jobs back
Sacked workers of Jamuna Fertilizer Company Ltd yesterday staged demonstration in front of the factory for the second day, demanding reinstatement in their work immediately. Recently the authority of the factory has sacked 486 workers from their job, said worker leader Moazzem Hossin, adding that they are passing very pathetic life.  Workers brought out a peaceful procession from Tarakandi Gateper area and ended it after reaching the main gate of the factory.

Speakers at the rally urged the authorities concerned to reinstate the sacked workers as early as possible.  "If the authorities do not reinstate them within 24 hours, they will go in a stronger protest," saying that the speakers threatened the authorities in the rally.  Julfikar Rahmam, a sacked worker of the factory , said he could not buy any medicine for his 6- year- old son who has been suffering from thalassema disease after he was sacked from the job. To establish this factory, his father, Abdur Rahman, having to give the factory three acres of land, became landless, he claimed. Before 15 year ago, he joined the factory as a daily basis worker but suddenly he was sacked, he said while rolling his tear down.

Mizanur Rahmam, another sacked  worker of the factory, son of late Abdur Razzak, shared the same fate and said his father also had to give the factory two acres of land for its establishment. Moreover, he will have to beg now to support his family, he said, adding that his children's education will be stopped.Connected, the factory's general manager (Administration), Delwar Hossin said the workers were sacked from their job according to rules. So it will be not possible to restate them in their work.
