Kazi Aminul Islam has been appointed as the first Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA). BIDA is a new state entity created out of a merger between Privatization Commission and Board of Investment.
The BIDA chief is a former Secretary to the Prime Minister and a former Alternate Executive Director to The World Bank Group.
"I believe Bangladesh has immense potential, now it's up to us how we tap that potential," said Kazi Aminul Islam in an immediate reaction on his appointment. "We need to work hard, work together to project the real image of Bangladesh," he told bdnews24.com.Kazi Aminul replaces Dr SA Samad, who as head of BOI enjoyed the rank and status of a Cabinet Minister.
