'BLRI plays big role in developing livestock resources'

 
 
 Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim has said that Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI) plays a significant role in the development of livestock resources in the country. Bangladesh has meanwhile gained self-sufficiency in the production of fish, meat, eggs and milk, SM Rezaul Karim further said.

 SM Rezaul Karim made the above remarks at a workshop organized by BLRI in Dhaka on Tuesday while speaking at the program as the chief guest.

 Secretary to Fisheries and Livestock Ministry Dr. Nahid Rashid attendeds the workshop as a special guest. Director General of Livestock Division Dr. Manzur Mohammad Shahjada and Additional Secretary to Fisheries and Livestock Ministry ATM Mostafa Kamal were present on the occasion as guests of honour. BLRI Director General Dr. SM Jahangir Hossain presided over the event. 

 The speakers at the workshop laid high emphasis on further advancement of the fisheries and livestock sector for more economic progress and fortifying Bangladesh's food autarky.
