'CU to turn into a human resource development center'

 
The works are in progress to turn Comilla University (CU) into a knowledge practicing and human resource development institution, said CU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr AFM Abdul Moyeen. He came up with the remarks while exchanging views with journalists at his office on Wednesday.

"The university authority has been working to appoint qualified teachers and prevent irregularities and corruption from the institution", he said.

The vice chancellor urged all teachers and students to stay away from ill politics.  "Nobody will be spared if anyone tries to do unethical activities", he warned.

"Comilla University has improved in World Ranking. The university has introduced e-file and d-file in order to bring acceleration in works. Special research assistance funds for teachers have been raised. Scholarship for meritorious students has been launched to make them interested in education. He sought co-operation from all including teachers, students, guardians and politicians to take the university towards further development.

Cumilla Press Club President Md Lutfor Rahman made the closing remarks while local journalists from electronic and print media attended the meeting.
