Coast Guard to celebrate  founding day today
 
The 28th anniversary of Bangladesh Coast Guard and 'Bangladesh Coast Guard Day-2023' will be observed in the country today in a befitting manner. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to attend the anniversary program as the chief guest while Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan will grace the program as special guest.

Prime Minister's Security Affairs Adviser Maj Gen (Retd.) Tarique Ahmed Siddique, Public Security  Division Senior Secretary Md Aminul Islam Khan, BCG Director General Rear Admiral Ashraful Haque Chowdhury will present at the program.  Ministers from various ministries, lawmakers, diplomatic personnel, military and civilian officials will also grace the occasion. 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate two newly-constructed building at Station Lakshmipur virtually on the occasion.  
Besides, BCG Director General Rear Admiral Ashraful Haque Chowdhury will award the Bangladesh Coast Guard Medal and President Coast Guard (Seba) Padak to officers, seamen and civilian officers and employees of the coast guard in recognition of their fearless contribution, heroism and courageous work.

Founded in February 14, 1995, the Bangladesh Coast Guard continues to make significant contributions to the security of the country's vast seas and coastal areas. The maritime law enforcement force has become a trusted symbol of security and confidence among the people by ensuring law and order in the country's maritime and coastal areas, protecting the lives and property of the people, curbing smuggling-drug-human trafficking as well as providing relief and assistance in various natural disasters.
