Nagorik TV celebrates fifth anniversary

 
After completing five years, satellite channel Nagorik entered the sixth year of its life on Wednesday. Originally, Nagorik TV officially began their operations on Mach 1, 2018, with the slogan of "Television Noy, Somporko" (Not Television, Relationships).

In a press release, Nagorik announced that on the occasion of their founding anniversary, they will broadcast various special live segments throughout the day, in between their regular programming. Eminent personalities from different walks of life will be involved in these live segments. There will also be a live folk-song programme from 7:40 pm. At 10 pm, there will be a special drama "Coolie Number Two".

The press release also noted that Nagorik has been trying to present the news in an objective manner since its inception. To that measure, Nagorik TV has been at the heart of discussions relating to news on irregularities and corruption.

Simultaneously, they have also tried to highlight the struggles of regular citizens and Bangladesh's development.
The late mayor of Dhaka North, Annisul Huq was the founder of the television channel. Nagorik TV is moving forward with his dream in mind. The current chairman of the channel is Rubana Huq.
