Shaheed Laila Hoque Freedom Fighter Khondoker Bazlul Hoque Trust Fund established at DU

 
A new trust fund titled 'Shaheed Laila Hoque-Freedom Fighter Khondoker Bazlul Hoque Trust Fund' has been established at Dhaka University (DU). Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman was present on this occasion as chief guest.

Honorary Professor of DU International Business Department Dr. Khondoker Bazlul Hoque handed over a cheque for Tk.15 lac to the Treasurer of DU Prof. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed on Sunday March 05, 2023 at the VC's Lounge of the university to set up this trust fund. Registrar Probir Kumar Sarker, Dean of Business Studies Faculty Prof Dr. Muhammad Abdul Moyeen and Director of DU Public Relations Office Mahmood Alam were present on this occasion.

Out of the income of this trust fund every year one meritorious student who will secure at least 3.96CGPA in BBA final examination from the Department of International Business of DU will be given 'Shaheed Syeda Laila Hoque Gold Medal'. Some other financially challenged and meritorious students of the same department will also be given scholarships.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman paid tributes to the memory of Shaheed Laila Hoque and thanked the donor for setting up this trust fund. He hoped that meritorious and financially challenged students would be highly benefited and inspired by this Trust Fund.  
SyedaLailaHoque, wife of Prof. Dr. Khondoker Bazlul Hoque became martyr during the great Liberation War in 1971.
