Journalist Zubair dedicates lyrics to late musician friend

Zubair Chowdhury, a journalist by profession and a budding lyricist, has dedicated his latest song to school friend talented musician Borno Chokrobarty whose life was cut short due to deadly coronavirus.

Singers Sultan Mahmud and Bristi Dola rendered their voices in the song titled 'Ranga Pori' which was released last month on all popular digital platforms.

The music video of the song composed by Washed Shahin and tuned by Tarek Ahsan was released on Suntan Mahmud YouTube channel on Friday (March 10). Music-lovers can enjoy the song on popular digital platforms including Amazon, Apple Music, Spotify, JioSaavn, Gana.

Vocalist Sultan Mahmud said, "My new song with Bristi Dola will give a different feeling to the audience. Hopefully, the song will touch the hearts of music lovers."

Lyricist Zubair Rahman Chowdhury said, "I started penning songs with inspiration from my schoolmate musician late Borno Chakroborty."

In 2012, my song 'Kachhe Ashar Ichchhey Theke' rendered by Dev Chakroborty was released in the album 'Borno with Colors-1' under Borno's music arrangements, Zubair Chowdhury said, adding that another track titled 'Bheja Mon' was released in 2014 with rendition from Borno Chakroborty.

"I wrote the lyrics of the song 'Ranga Pori' in March 2014. The song was written for Borno Chakroborty. But Borno is no more with us. So I have dedicated the song to my friend Borno Chakroborty," he added.

To mention, Borno Chakroborty died on July 17, 2021 at the age of just 36 being infected with coronavirus. The music director's first solo album 'Boka Pakhi' was released three months before his death.
