Asian Age officials meet President-elect Shahabuddin

AKM Shameem Chowdhuri, Advisory Editor of The Asian Age and former Principal Information Officer of Bangladesh government and Al Amin Chowdhury, Publisher of The Asian Age called on President-elect Mohammad Shahabuddin on Monday in the capital's Gulshan. The officials of The Asian Age greeted Mohammad Shahabuddin with flowers and congratulated him on being elected the new President of Bangladesh.

AKM Shameem Chowdhuri and Al Amin Chowdhury talked to Mohammad Shahabuddin about the role The Asian Age has been playing since its inception. The Asian Age has been publishing authentic, informative and objective reports on domestic and international issues, politics, economy, financial matters, education, art and culture, entertainment, literature, environment, sports, health, law etcetera, the Asian Age officials told Mohammad Shahabuddin.

The Asian Age officials and the President-elect laid emphasis on the prevalence of freedom of press for the establishment of good governance, democratic practices, integrity, socio-economic justice and transparency in the country. They talked about different issues including the importance of media outlets in enhancing the betterment of Bangladesh. The Asian Age Advisory Editor and the newspaper’s Publisher extended their best wishes for all out wellbeing of Mohammad Shahabuddin.

Both Mohammad Shahabuddin and AKM Shameem Chowdhuri are heroic freedom fighters. They recalled the memories of the glorious Liberation War of 1971.

The President-elect thanked the officials of The Asian Age for visiting him and conveyed compliments.
