World's longest Pi Drawing program held in DU
 
Students of Department of Applied Mathematics of Dhaka University (DU) have carried out the longest pi drawing on different roads across DU campus. DU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Akhteruzzaman inaugurated the painting program on Monday. It was held on account of International Mathematics Day which came off on 14 March.

Professor Dr. Md. Shawkat Ali, Chairman of Applied Math Department, Professor Dr. Md. Abdus Samad, Dean of Science Faculty, Professor Dr. Md. Shahidul Islam, Chairman of Mathematics Department spoke on the occasion among other dignitaries.

DU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Akhteruzzaman applauded the students of DU for conducting such a huge painting activity on DU campus. He urged mathematicians and students to spread out the innovative applications of mathematics all over Bangladesh to achieve the targets of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Professor Dr. Md. Akhteruzzaman also called upon students to build up themselves with necessary skills and capabilities to deal with the advent of 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR).
