Abahani, Prime Bank victorious in DPL
Title favourite Abahani Limited survived a mighty scare to post a thrilling 9-run victory against Agrani Bank Limited in Dhaka Premier League (DPL) at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah on Thursday.
With the win, Abahani stayed on top in DPL after 10 matches and also kept their hopes of regaining the title alive Meanwhile, promising Towhid Hridoy slammed a brilliant 98 not out as defending champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club outplayed Prime Bank Cricket Club by 7-wicket at the same day at BKSP-3 ground.
Put into bat first, Abahani Limited were dismissed for 267 in 50 overs, despite opener Naim Sheikh's 79 off 75 featuring 10 fours and two sixes and skipper Mosaddek Hossain's 52.
Pacer Anamul Haque was the pick of Agrani bowler with 3-57 while Abu Haider Rony and Asaduzzaman Payel took two wickets apiece.
