Mayor Atiqul Islam's activities in three years

 
Md. Atiqul Islam was elected Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) in 2020 with pledges to build up a healthy, dynamic and modernized Dhaka city. Yesterday Saturday (13 May 2023) marked Md. Atiqul Islam's third year in the DNCC Mayor post.

Md. Atiqul Islam has carried out a lot of infrastructural work in DNCC during last three years. Some of the projects are still underway. Md. Atiqul Islam said that he is hopeful about implementing the rest 80% of his electoral promises within two years.

Md. Atiqul Islam told journalists that he is determined to execute his development programs to transform Dhaka into a modern and inhabitable city during his mayoral tenure. He said, "I am moving forward step by step. I have been able to gain people's confidence through my work. People's faith in me is my strength to go ahead."

Mayor Md. Atiqul Islam further said, "I took over the post of DNCC Mayor during the Covid 19 pandemic in 2020. The situation was very critical at that time. However, now things are normal. I believe I will be able to keep all my electoral commitments within next two years."

Md. Atiqul Islam has been working relentlessly to recover lakes and canals around Dhaka city, reduce traffic jams, solve water logging, destroy mosquitoes, modernize playgrounds and making the best of his efforts for some other beneficial tasks.
