SR Asia organizes a webinar on waste management
 
SR Asia organized a webinar, "Significance of partnership projects to establish effective waste management in the country" to celebrate World Environment-2023. During the webinar, SR Asia and The Coca-Cola Foundation's joint project - Integrated Management of Plastic Assortment and Contribution Towards Green Economy "IMPACT-GE" in Bangladesh presented their project findings and impact of the projects for effective sustainable waste management in the country. The webinar also showcasedThe Coca-Cola Foundation's other partnership projects with BRAC and CordAidcontributing positive impact to the environment. Practical Action Bangladesh and Ernest and Young presented their project on plastic waste management in the webinar.

Objectives of the webinar are to engage with relevant stakeholder through discussion on the importance of partnership projects to establish more effective waste management in Bangladesh, highlight the significance of circular economy as the way forward, shed light on recycling, recyclable material and rPET and share project findings and impact with relevant stakeholders.

The webinar was moderated by Dr. Mahfuzul Haque, Director of SR Asia Bangladesh [Former Secretary, Government of Bangladesh].Director of Department of Environment, Mr. M Ziaul Haque and MR. Asit Baran Biswas Counselor ward-15 and president of Permanent Waste Management Committee of Narayanganj City Corporation attended the webinar as special guests and participated in the discussion.Along with government officials, representatives from private sector, INGOs, NGOs, academiaparticipated in the webinar. Officials of Coca-Cola and The Coca-Cola Foundation were also present in the webinar. 

During the webinar, SR ASIA presented the project model implemented to establishment of waste collection and processing enterprises for sustainable environment and inclusive economic growth in Dhaka South city Corporation. The project incorporated 300 waste workers in this model and organized them to collect PET plastic in a systemic approach and recycle to add value in the market.

Following the presentation, BRAC, Cordaid, E&Y and Practical Action Bangladesh also presented respective project models on waste management in Bangladesh.
