Workshop on food and nutrition held

 
Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) organized a workshop on fortifying food and nutrition security at Khamarbari in Dhaka on Saturday.
Agriculture Secretary Wahida Akter attended the workshop as the chief guest. She informed that at present 80-85 lakh hectares of cultivable land are available in Bangladesh. She urged all concerned to make the most of these farmlands.

Wahida Akter echoed the Prime Minister's statement that not a single inch of land in the country will remain uncultivated.

The workshop was presided over by DAE Director General Badal Chandra Biswas. Senior officials from different organizations were present at the program. It was told at the workshop that the project will be implemented in 155 upazilas under 49 districts across Bangladesh at a cost of 148 crore 80 lakh 72 thousand taka.
