Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has started an investigation against the recently out-going vice-chancellor of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Dr Lutful Hassan, for his alleged involvement in irregularities in teacher recruitment and corruption.
Ishfaq Ahmed, an assistant professor of BAU, has filed a complaint mentioning the involvement of former VC Dr Lutful Hassan in irregularities in teacher recruitment and corruption. The alleged ex BAU vice chancellor earned huge illegal properties by teacher recruitment and corruption.
But, Krishibid Dr Waliullah, registrar of the university, claimed that there is no assistant professor in the name of Ishfaq Ahmed in the university.
On May 31, 2023, a letter signed by ACC Director (Daily and Recent Complaint Cell) Uttam Kumar Mondal has been sent to University Grant Commission Chairman Kazi Shahidullah to investigate the allegation.
While talking to the former VC Dr Lutful Hassan, he claimed that it is a baseless and fabricated allegation.
He claimed that the man who filed the allegation is a non-existent person and he hasn't been associated with the university.
He acknowledged that he has six decimals of land at Purbachal and a small tin-shed house in Barishal which was earned by dint of inheritance. He has a land in Kamalapur which was also earned by dint of inheritance and he has bought some land from his sisters. Except these, he has no properties.
