Swachip announces EC

The central executive committee of Swadhinata Chikitsak Parishad (Swa-chip) has been annou-nced recently with Prof Dr Iqbal Arslan as president and Prof Dr Mohammad Abdul Aziz as secretary general. The 136-member central committee of Swachip, an associate body of Bangladesh Awami League, has been announced with the approval of the organization's top leader Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also the president of Bangladesh Awami League, a Swachip press release said.

The committee is comprised of 11 vice presidents, one treasurer, three joint secretary generals, 11 organizing secretaries, 15 secretaries and 15 assistant secretaries in charge of various portfolios and 78 executive members. A 21-member advisory committee of the organization has also been announced yesterday. Vice presidents are- Dr Kanak Kanti Barua, Dr Jamal Uddin Chowdhury, Dr Abdur Rouf Sarder, Dr Rokeya Sultana, Dr Ehsanul Kabir Joglu, Dr AFM Rafiqul Alam, Dr Sheikh Baharul Alam, Dr Ehteshamul Haque Dulal, Dr Mohsin-uzzaman Chowdhury, Dr Tabibur Rahman Sheikh and Dr ALKM Shariful Islam. Dr Abu Yusuf Fakir was made treasurer of the organization while joint secretary generals are- Dr ASM Zakaria, Dr Uttam Kumar Barua and Dr Zulfiqar Ali Lenin. - BSS, Dhaka
